Are you ready to elevate your IPL experience with a touch of DIY magic?
If you’re a cricket fanatic like me, you know that the Indian Premier League (IPL) is the ultimate thrill ride in the cricketing world.
But why settle for just watching the matches when you can turn the excitement up a notch?
As a passionate cricket lover and avid craft enthusiast, I’ve combined my two passions to create something truly special i.e. the IPL Win Prediction Wheel.

This fun and interactive craft project will add a whole new dimension to your IPL viewing parties.
Using simple materials like cardboard and basic crafting supplies, I’ve crafted a Spin the Wheel game that will keep you and your friends entertained throughout the tournament.
It’s a blast to gather with loved ones, spin the wheel, and make predictions about which team will emerge victorious.
In this blog post, I’ll walk you through the step-by-step process of creating your very own IPL Win Prediction Wheel.
I’ve included detailed instructions and supporting images to guide you every step of the way.
So, grab your crafting gear and let’s get started on this exciting journey together!
Step 1: Things I’ve used to prepare our IPL match predictor craft

- Cardboard: I’ve used a round cardboard cutout which is actually a base of cake that I had ordered from a local shop for an occasion. Additionally, I’ve used the cardboard packaging cover of the cake to stick the IPL teams Logos.
- IPL Team Logos: For the IPL team logos I first downloaded them online (Used free download versions) and then aligned using Canva. Took a printout from my printer available at home.
- Circle with 10 sections: I drew a circle with 10 equal sections on my laptop for the 10 participating teams of the IPL.
- Multipurpose Glue: I’ve used multipurpose PVA glue to stick craft papers and cardboard as required.
- Hot Glue Gun: To fix a few elements quickly I’ve used the hot glue gun.
Okay, so those were the materials I used for this project. Now, let’s dive into the essential steps to make it happen.
Step 2: Cutting the circle with sections

I drew and printed a circle with 10 equal sections for each IPL team.
After that, I cut it using scissors and then pasted it over the round cardboard sheet.
This round cardboard cutout happened to be the base of a birthday cake I had ordered online.
Usually, I keep these items handy for my craft projects.
But if you don’t have one available, you can simply cut a round shape from a cardboard sheet.
Then, I applied glue to the cardboard and carefully attached the circle cutout with sections over it.
Step 3: Drill a hole to the center

To attach the spinning rod, I had to punch a hole in the center of the cutout.
Since the cardboard was tough, I used a screw to make the hole.
So, I pressed the screw into the center point and rotated it to create the hole.
Once it went through successfully, I inserted a bamboo stick, pushing its pointed end into the hole.
After assembling it, I gave the round cutout a spin for testing, and it spun perfectly well.
Step 4: IPL logos cutout

I cut out and glued the IPL team logos onto the cardboard sheet of the cake cover.
I made sure to align them properly, preparing them to be attached to the wheel in the following steps.
Step 5: Sticking origami cutouts over the circle sections

I cut colorful origami sheets to match the sizes of the 10 sections of the circle.
Utilizing 5 different colorful origami papers, I cut 2 pieces of each for the 10 sections.
Then, I applied PVA glue to adhere them over the sections correctly.
After ensuring they were all securely stuck and had dried, it was time to move on to the next step.
Step 6: Crafting the Pointer

To create the pointer handle that indicates the winner, I used a popsicle stick.
Additionally, I utilized a sheet of self-adhesive golden glitter paper to cover the popsicle stick.
Firstly, I marked the size of the popsicle stick and cut the glitter sheet accordingly.
Then, I pasted it over the wooden popsicle stick and shaped one end like an arrow pointer using scissors (The golden pointer handle turned out perfectly).
Step 7: Fixing the pointer

I cut a bamboo stick and inserted it into the hole I created over the wheelbase.
Then, I secured the handle to the bamboo stick using the hot glue gun.
Next, I inserted it into the hole and tested the spinning.
I made sure to leave enough space between the handle and the wheel so that it could spin properly.
After testing, I confirmed that it spun properly.
Step 8: Predict and Win Realtime

Now, it was time to spin the magical wheel and predict the winning team of the tournament.
How Do We Play IPL Win Predictor Wheel?
To play the IPL Win Predictor craft, gather either 5 or 10 participants. If there are 5 of us, each person selects 2 teams.
Likewise, if there are 10 participants, each person chooses 1 team.
Then, we spin the wheel, and if your chosen team wins, you earn points.
We typically play around 10 or 20 rounds and tally the points afterward.
The participant with the highest points is declared the winner.
The person with the lowest points treats the winner, while the rest become spectators.
You can customize the rules to fit your preferences and make the game even more exciting.
