Today, we’re going to create a fun and easy paper donkey craft for kids that’s sure to bring smiles to their faces.

Step 1: Making The Paper Donkey Template

Let’s start by making the paper Donkey template.

You’ll find two types of templates i.e. one with outlines only, and the other pre-filled with colors matching a typical donkey.

The colored template makes assembly a breeze,  just print and cut. If you prefer to customize, opt for the outline-only version and add your own hues.

For group projects with kids, save time and energy by printing multiple copies of the colorful template.

Step 3: Cutting the Donkey Shapes

I opted for the pre-filled donkey template and cut out the shapes from the paper.

Next up, I aligned the pieces to ensure the paper donkey comes together just right.

Step 4: Assembling the Cutouts

Once I had the cutouts ready, I focused on adding the details to the donkey’s face i.e. the ears, mouth, nose, and eyes.

Making sure they were aligned perfectly was key for even sticking.

Then, I moved on to aligning the main body structure and the white shades for assembly. These shades mimic the donkey’s neck to belly, adding a touch of realism to the structure.

Step 5: Assembling the Head, Fur, and Body

I started by fixing the head to its body, but before doing so, I made sure to attach the furry hair over its head.

Once the hair shapes were properly stuck, I proceeded to assemble the head onto the main body structure.

Step 6: Sticking the Tail and Legs

In the final step of our paper donkey craft, I assembled the remaining legs and the tail.

The front leg was attached from behind the other pair, while the back leg went below the belly’s shade.

With that, we successfully completed this fantastic paper donkey craft, as shown in image 6.2 above.
