Step 1: Making The Paper Eagle Template
Before we continue, let me show you how I created the paper eagle template.
First, I sketched the necessary shapes based on the eagle’s structure.
Once I was happy with the shapes, I traced over them with a black marker to define the outlines clearly.
Feel free to draw your own shapes if you’d like to personalize your eagle template. However, if you prefer a quicker option, I’ve prepared a ready-to-use template for you.
Step 2: Downloading The Paper Eagle Template
I’ve uploaded the paper eagle template on our website, and the image above shows what it looks like.
There are two versions available for download i.e. one is just the outlines, allowing you to customize it with colors of your choice. The other is pre-colored to match an eagle’s natural hues, simplifying your project even further.
You can simply download, print, and cut out the shapes to start your craft.
The colorful version is especially useful if you’re working with a group of children on this paper eagle project.
Feel free to choose and print the template that best suits your needs with just a few clicks. Now, let’s move on to the main steps of assembling the paper eagle.
Step 3: Cutting The Shapes
I used the colorful template to cut out the shapes for the paper eagle, as shown in the image above (3.2).
Alternatively, you can choose your own colorful papers and use the blank template from image 3.1 for cutting.
Just make sure to cut the shapes accurately to ensure the eagle’s structure assembles smoothly.
Step 4: Assembling The Shapes
With all the necessary cutouts ready, it’s time to piece together the paper eagle.
I started by attaching the beak to its face, followed by adding the fluffy feathers around its neck.
I used blue and black markers to draw the eagle’s eyes, and the result is stunning, as you can see in image 4.2 above.
Step 5: Assembling the Lower Body
Next, I attached the lower body cutout to the head, ensuring it was properly aligned.
Then, I affixed the legs, complete with sharp claws, underneath the lower body of the eagle.
As shown in image 5.2 above, one leg should be attached from behind and the other from the front for a more realistic appearance.
Step 6: Assembling the Wings
We’ve reached the final step of crafting our paper eagle i.e. assembling the wings and tail feathers.
First, I attached the long tail feather cutout, followed by the wings.
For the wings, I layered the smaller cutouts on top of the larger wing shape.
Finally, I fixed the wings to the body, completing the Paper Eagle Craft.
Now that our eagle is fully assembled, let’s dive into some fascinating facts about eagles below.
